Researchers from UzhNU presented their research projects at the University of Warsaw

An important step toward deepening academic cooperation and establishing Ukrainian science on the global stage

On September 18–19, Ukrainian scholarship recipients from three Central European UMIFRE–CEFRES centers—in Prague, CMB in Berlin, and IRECA in Warsaw—presented their research projects at the University of Warsaw during a seminar titled “In Pause and in Motion: Tracing Circulation During and After Wartime.” Participants in the event Among the Ukrainian participants were Prof. Halyna Shumytska, director of the Research Center for the Sociology of Language at the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Prof. Tetyana Karabin, chair of the Department of Administrative, Financial, and Information Law at the Faculty of Law. Their research projects—“Diversity, Identities, and Language Integration” and “Anti-Corruption Potential of Ukraine’s New Law on Administrative Procedure” —successfully passed the competitive selection process and expert review, sparking interest in the issues raised. The organizers and moderators of the academic event were Mateusz Chmurski (French Research Center for the Humanities and Social Sciences, Prague), Lor Delcour (French Research Institute for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and North Asia, Warsaw), and Jay Rowell (Mark Block Center, Berlin)—represent research institutions established by France to conduct research in various countries around the world with the aim of fostering scientific cooperation, particularly in the humanities and social sciences, as well as promoting international academic exchanges. These institutions typically focus on regional studies, including history, culture, archaeology, sociology, and other disciplines related to the specific regions or countries where they are located.

The seminar participants were welcomed by the rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Aloiza Novak, and the French Ambassador to the Republic of Poland, Étienne de Poncins. Discussions on current and pressing issues continued during an official reception for Ukrainian scholars at the French Embassy in Poland. This marks another important step toward deepening academic cooperation and establishing Ukrainian science on the global stage.
